Mr. Ricardo I. Encarnado of Huntley

Ricardo I. Encarnado, 86, of Huntley, Illinois. May 3, 2024, Ricardo Innumerable Encarnado, 86, of Huntley, IL, passed away at Lutheran General Hospital with his adored daughter Monica Giotakis at his side. Early that morning, the clouds lifted and the angels ushered him to heaven. Ricardo Inumerable Encarnado was born on June 9, 1937 in Lemery Batangas, Philippines to the late Vicente Encarnado and mother Lourdes Inumerable Encarnado. He was the eldest in the family of three, followed by Editha Ramos and the late Orlando Encarnado. He is survived by his beloved wife Werlina Cabrera Encarnado, a devoted father to Teorico Encarnado and Monica Giotakis (m. Bobby), a cherished grandfather to Marina Angelita Giotakis, and loving uncle to 10 nieces and nephews; Ma. Lourdes Carmen, the late Dionisio, Dionisio Antonio, Octavio, Mary Grace, Dionisio III, Maria Cecilia, and Rina. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy December 16, 1962 - February 25, 1966. He served four valiant years on the Navy Destroyer Ship USS Barry DD-933. The ship has been decommissioned in 1982, and became the "Display Ship Barry" (DS Barry), a museum ship at the Washington Navy Yard in Washington, D.C., in 1984.He received a good conduct medal. Following his military service, Ricardo studied business administration at the University of the East. Just shy of a few credits from earning his Bachelor’s degree he decided to follow the love of his life and immigrated to the United States. Ricardo was a dedicated employee at AT&T in their Engineering department. He spent his entire career life there and retired at the age of 62. All people die, but not all people live. Ricardo lived! He packed so much life into his eighty-six years. He traveled, worked in a profession he loved, was a fitness buff and worked out regularly, was a master cook in the kitchen and believed in overcooking everything until it chewed like rubber so you would never get sick because all the germs would be nuked. AND still put one foot in front of the other battling what he did not know was an incurable disease. He did so with grace, integrity, and courage. He will be remembered for all the heart he shared with his friends and family. He truly loved each of them- and if you knew him, you knew it. When his time came, he carried himself with dignity, strength, and full of love for those who went before him. He will be missed dearly. Ricardo’s Novena Prayer began on May 3, 2024. A military funeral honors will take place at the St. Michael of Archangel Cemetery. A Celebration of Life Reception will follow. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2024 from 3:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at Morizzo Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2550 West Hassell Road, (Northwest corner of Barrington Road), Hoffman Estates, IL 60169. Family and friends will meet on Friday, May 10, 2024 at St. Hubert Catholic Church, 729 Grand Canyon St, Hoffman Estates, IL 60169 for a visitation from 9:30 A.M. till time of Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 A.M..
