Mrs. Alice Ann Davis of Schaumburg

Ann Davis, nee Alice Ann Jones, 77, of Schaumburg, Illinois, died peacefully early Sunday morning, December 22, 2019, in the presence of her daughter Anne and dear friend Emilia. During her final days she was constantly in the company of her daughters, sister and dear friends. She was born November 14, 1942 in Elmira N.Y. to James and Anna Mae Jones. She graduated from Thomas A. Edison high school in 1960, and attended University of New York at Geneseo, graduating with a degree in teaching. Following college she married and welcomed her 2 daughters into her life. During these years she lived briefly in Albegquerque, NM and worked as a devoted elementary school teacher. She moved to Bronx N.Y. and went on to work as a business woman in the clothing industry for many years. Around 1973 she moved to California where she lived in various locations for 22 years, and greatly enjoyed the natural beauty of the state. She also traveled to Canada, Egypt and Yugoslavia. Around 1995 she moved to Schaumburg, Illinois where she served as an editor and publisher, working until the day she could not. Her friends in Schaumburg remember her as conscientious and diligent, and a smiling and caring friend. Her family remembers her as very generous and often expressing her love and care in the giving of gifts. She is remembered lovingly by her daughters Anne (Steve) Coulter, and Michelle (A.J.) Ross, grandchildren Mari, Hope, Joshua, Catherine, James, Leigh Ann, Noelle and Isaac Coulter, and Robin, Anthony and Shayna Ross, and great grandchildren Henry, Hayden, Hashad, A3 and Melrose; also by her sister Karin (Bob) Kurcoba, nephews Bryan (Chrissie), Kevin (Alicia), Rob (Sarah), and grandniec e and nephews Jordynn, Shaunn, Levi, Jude and Malakai. Also will be missed by life-long friend Tom Herrmann, and other relatives and friends. May God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, together with Mary our Blessed Mother and St. Jospeh, receive Her in Heaven. Amen. A funeral Mass will be held at Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Sacramento, CA at a date yet to be determined. Burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Elmira, NY at the convenience of the family.
