Mrs. Arlene A. Zielske of South Barrington

Arlene Ann Zielske (Linde) , of South Barrington, Illinois, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2023, at the age of 86. Arlene was born in Mason City, Iowa, on May 24, 1937, the daughter of Perry and Tillie (Dolen) Linde. She grew up in Lake Mills, Iowa, graduated top of her class from Lake Mills High School, and moved to Albert Lea, Minnesota, after graduation. Arlene was an active member of the Albert Lea community, Ascension Lutheran Church, and enjoyed her early career selling real estate and raising her three children. Arlene furthered her education by earning her Associate Degree in Nursing at Austin Community College. She spent her later career as a Registered Nurse at Thorne Crest South, providing excellent care to the residents of that facility. Arlene was an avid card player and participated in numerous bridge clubs with many of her longtime friends. Arlene could always be spotted around the Albert Lea area shopping at Northbridge Mall or having lunch with family and friends. In 2018, Arlene moved to Illinois to spend time with her daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren. Arlene is survived by her children, whom she loved very much, Scott Zielske, Spokane, WA, Shayne Zielske (Margaret Zielske), Spokane, WA, and Nicole Zielske (Doug Schmid), South Barrington, IL, four grandchildren Taylor Hoit (Jordan Hoit), Drake Zielske, Alexa Schmid and Spencer Schmid, and two great-grandchildren, Brooks and Wells Hoit. Arlene was preceded in death by her parents and two beloved brothers, Robert (Bob) Linde and Dean Linde. Arlene will be greatly missed and always remembered by her family and friends.
