Mr. Chris Gregory Horeth

Mr. Chris Gregory Horeth, it is with great sadness we announce the passing of Christopher (Chris) Gregory Horeth. Born on July 16, 1982 in Rochester, NY to parents Gregory and Diane Clark Horeth, Chris passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home surrounded by loved ones on February 28, 2025. Chris was an incredibly hard working and intelligent man, and he had many accomplishments in which to be proud of in both his personal and professional life. Chris graduated with honors from Wheaton North high school and went on to continue his education at DePaul University in Chicago where he graduated with a bachelor's in chemistry. He later went on to earn both his masters in finance and his M.B.A. through DePaul University as well. Chris was a beloved colleague of Hyatt Hotels Corporation, working in various finance leadership roles, the latest being Vice President-Finance of the Americas. Chris exuded passion in his work, showing unwavering dedication to his colleagues who considered him a trusted mentor and a friend. Chris will be remembered for his exceptional leadership, willingness to help others, and ability to navigate through change with ease and clarity. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to work with him. During his lifetime Chris had an immense passion for the arts and travelling. Chris was fortunate enough to be able to travel to 6 out of the 7 continents and he loved traveling so much that his friends and family often joked that it was difficult to keep track of him. Chris was also a very talented musician and loved all things music. His love for music started at a young age when he played trumpet, but Chris could pick up almost any instrument you put in his hands and learn it with ease. Chris was able to enjoy musical theater all over the world, as well as in the city he lived in and loved, Chicago. Chris was often described as unapologetically himself, someone who was very humble, but not afraid to brag. He was an incredibly loyal and loving person to his family and friends, characteristics only rivaled by his wicked sense of humor. Chris had a knack for making and delivering the perfect sarcastic jokes and could genuinely fill a room with laughter. He took joy in making others laugh until the very end. While his time with us may have been cut short, Chris always acknowledged that he lived a very fulfilling life with no regrets and he lives on through his loved ones. Chris is survived by his parents, Gregory and Diane Horeth, brother Brad (Breanna) Horeth, sister Ashlyn (Eric) Horeth Scanlan and his nephew and niece Kellan and Adalyn Horeth. Memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, March 9, 2025 at Morizzo Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2550 West Hassell Road, (Northeast corner of Barrington Road), Hoffman Estates, IL 60169 from 11:00 A.M. till 2:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers and gifts we ask for donations to be made to the Human Rights Campaign or Doctors Without Borders as these were charities Chris passionately donated to throughout his life.
