David J Catrone, O.D., age 72, of Schaumburg, Illinois. **Due to COVID-19 pandemic, everyone is asked to be patient and abide by the number of visitors in the funeral home. Please note that all visitors are required to wear a mask when entering the funeral home** David passed peacefully Friday, January 22, 2021. From his birth, September 19, 1948 in Meriden, CT till his death he has filled the lives of his family, friends and patients with laughter, support, caring and love. David practiced Optometry for over 40 years in Roselle, IL before retiring. He was an active member of the Roselle Lion’s Club for 25 years and their first recipient of the Melvin Jones Award. A day away from the office found David bowling, golfing or fishing. He was always serving the community, active in Worldwide Marriage Encounter, St. Hubert Marriage Ministry and Encore 55. David was totally absorbed in his roles as a husband, father and Papa. He walked hand in hand with his beloved wife, admired his daughter’s courageous achievements and spent every possible second with his grand little 7 year old partner in crime. He is the loving husband of Barbara Catrone, nee Charek; devoted father of Beth Zeyen; cherished Papa of Gracie Schemm; fond brother of Mark Catrone; beloved brother-in-law, uncle and cousin to many. Visitation Friday, February 5th from 3:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at Morizzo Funeral Home, 2550 West Hassell Rd., (Northeast corner of Barrington Rd.), Hoffman Estates, IL. 60169. Friends and family will gather at St. Hubert Church, 729 Grand Canyon, Hoffman Estates on Saturday, February 6th for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M..
