Mrs. Deborah "Debbie" Spada of North Barrington

Deborah “Debbie” Spada (nee Devit), 76,of North Barrington, Illinois; went home to God July 28, 2025. Loving wife and best friend to her husband of 55 years David; devoted mother of David (Melinda) and Nicole; adoring grandmother of Gianna, Marisa, and Kristina Spada, and William, Grace, and David Wyatt. Debbie was born in Oak Park in 1948, to William and Rosemary, nee Barker. As a young girl, Debbie lived and grew up in the Galewood area of Chicago. Debbie was a graduate of St. William grade school and Trinity High School in River Forest. She continued her studies at Barat College in Lake Forest before becoming a grade school teacher. Debbie married the love of her life, David Spada, February 7, 1970. While she was pregnant with her children, Debbie attended and graduated John Marshall Law School, first in her class. Debbie’s favorite roles in life were being a mother and grandmother. She enjoyed hosting people for holidays, sewing costumes for her children, playing with her grandchildren, and crocheting and knitting outfits for them. In addition, Debbie was an active member of her community, organizing St. Joseph’s tables at Mount St. Joseph in Lake Zurich and working with Catholic Charities. In addition to her husband, children, and grandchildren, Debbie is survived by her brother, Robert (Michele) DiVito. Debbie was preceded in death by her parents and brother William, as well as many other wonderful friends and relatives. She was loved and will be missed by her family and friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 31 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Mount St. Joseph, 24955 N U.S. Hwy 12, Lake Zurich. Friends and family will meet on Friday, August 1 for visitation at Mount St. Joseph from 9:00 a.m., until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. The family has created this Life Tributes page to make it easy to share your memories, photos, and videos.
