Diane Betty Lipari, 83, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2026. Born on September 10, 1942, to James and Bernice Berg, Diane lived a life defined by her deep love for family, her fierce strength, and an infectious joy that touched everyone around her. Diane was the devoted wife of the late Joseph Lipari, and together they built a home filled with warmth, laughter, and the kind of love that lasts a lifetime. A breast cancer survivor, Diane met that challenge with the same quiet courage and determination that defined everything she did. She was equally a force of strength and grace during the final chapter of Joseph’s life, caring for him with unwavering devotion and selfless love until the very end. As a mother, Diane poured her heart into raising her three children, and that same devotion extended wholeheartedly to her grandchildren. When her grandchildren came along, Diane made it her mission to be present for every milestone — traveling to Texas for Emily and JP’s birthday and graduation celebrations and lovingly caring for her grandchildren Milana and Mia in Illinois. Nothing made her happier than being exactly where her family needed her. For years, Diane hosted the entire family every Christmas, turning the holiday into a beloved tradition filled with warmth and togetherness. It was not Christmas without all the cavatelli and braciole at the table. Even after she moved to Florida, that spirit of gathering never left her, always being ready for en event or night out to dinner with friends. Diane had a wonderful zest for life that took her far beyond her front door. She loved to travel, and one of her most treasured adventures was a fabulous trip to Italy to celebrate her birthday, surrounded by Joe and many dear friends — a memory her family will always hold close. Closer to home, she adored the magic of live theater, and seeing Jersey Boys with Joe in New York City was among her most cherished experiences. Those who knew Diane knew a few things for certain: there was always a Pepsi nearby — a lifelong passion she held faithfully until her very last days — and there was likely a card game in progress. Her weekly card games were a staple of her life, and she brought that same enthusiasm to bunco, her Nintendo DS and Wii. A bingo game or trip to the casino rounded out that gambling spiriti in her. She was an avid reader with a book always within reach, and her hands were rarely idle — she crocheted blankets for family and friends, wrapping the people she loved in something handmade and warm. Diane is survived by her three children: son Joseph Lipari (Pam), daughter Tracy Lipari, and daughter Melissa Lipari; her four beloved grandchildren Emily, Milana, JP, and Mia; her sisters Gloria Beck (the late Tim Beck) and Eileen Strzalka (Gary); and her cherished nieces and nephews Brian Beck, Jim Beck (Christie), Jeff Strzalka (Lisa), Jodi (Ryan), and Greg (Sarah). She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Lipari; her parents, James and Bernice Berg; and her brother-in-laws, William Lipari and Tim Beck. Diane’s laugh, her generosity, her crocheted blankets, and yes — her Pepsi — will be remembered and missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was one of a kind, and the world is quieter without her. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Morizzo Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2550 West Hassell Road, (Northwest corner of Barrington Road), Hoffman Estates, IL 60169. Family and friends will meet on Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at Holy Family Church, 2515 W. Palatine Road, Inverness, IL 60067 for a visitation from 10:00 A.M. till time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M.. Interment to follow at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery in Palatine. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society in Diane’s memory.
