Mr. Edward Michael Salvadore of Schaumburg

Edward Michael Salvadore, 92, of Schaumburg, Illinois. Ed had an interesting life as someone who was part of the team of aerospace engineers who helped land men on the moon in the late 1960’s, he ran a successful deli/sandwich shop with his wife, and after retiring spent many years working at Costco where he was known as “Mr. Eddie” by all the kids who loved seeing his smiling face. Like many Italians, he showed his love through food and cooking and in his late eighties wrote a cookbook that included all of the recipes he and his wife, Grace gathered over their 64 years together. Ed was a proud Veteran of the Korean War who surprised everyone in basic training when a kid from Brooklyn had the unlikely skills of a fine marksman. Ed’s greatest strength was his ability to make friends wherever he went. Beloved husband of the late Grace Salvadore; loving father of Lisa (Frances McClain) Salvadore, John (Erin Ryan) Salvadore and Edward Salvadore; beloved grandfather of Nicholas Salvadore, Alexis (Shawn) Larson, Anthony Salvadore, and Greyson Salvadore, cherished great grandfather of Nicholas Salvadore, Dustin Larsen, and Anthony Salvadore; devoted brother in law of Anne (the late John) Sperando; uncle of many including Diane Adamek, Joanne Sperando, and the late John Sperando. He will be missed by many close friends including Gloria Jackson and Allen Dean. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 4, 2025 from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Morizzo Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2550 West Hassell Road, (Northwest corner of Barrington Road), Hoffman Estates, IL 60169.
