Mr. Francis "Barney" Bernard Gerard Freemon of East Dundee

Francis “Barney” Bernard Gerard Freemon, 56, of East Dundee, Illinois. Barney died December 7, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family. He was under the care of JourneyCare Hospice, of Barrington, Illinois. Barney was the beloved husband of Rebecca “Becky” Lynne Freemon, nee Reuter, loving father of Faith Elizabeth Ann Freemon; devoted brother of Charles Wm. "Chas" (Mary) Freemon, Bengt Carl “Ben” (Kathleen) Freemon, Ann Catherine “Jaye” (the late James J. III “Jay”) Mc Ginn, Eugene Joseph “Gene” (Christine) Freemon, Kelly-Jean Gerise Freemon-Prigge, Joseph John Freemon, Gerard Bartholomew “Bart” (June) Freemon, Mary Margaret “Jill” (the late Rob) Preston, Hiram Michael (Maureen) Freemon and the late Roxanne “Gerri” Freemon; cherished uncle and great uncle of many; brother in law of Rose Stephens, Donna (Joe) Mills, Robert (Ann) Reuter, and David (Shelly) Reuter. He served the East Dundee and Countryside Fire District as a Fireman for 23 years and was with the Carpentersville Fire Department from 1986 – 1993. He also worked with Munch’s Home Hospital Care in Elgin, C.T.I. in Barrington, Delta Therm in Wauconda and Kane County Sheriffs Auxiliary. Barney was a member of St. Monica's Catholic Church, in Carpentersville his entire life, where he was an Altar boy, Catechist, Sacristan, member of St. Vincent de Paul, Eucharistic Minister, Usher, Bingo caller and member of the Knights of Columbus. Visitation will be Monday, December 11, 2023 from 3:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Morizzo Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2550 West Hassell Road, (Northeast corner at Barrington Road), Hoffman Estates, Illinois 60169 and Tuesday visitation will be at St. Monica Catholic Church, 90 South Kennedy Drive, Carpentersville, Illinois 60110 where his visitation will be 10:00 A.M. until his Mass of Christian burial 11:00 A.M. Barney will be entombed at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Cemetery, Palatine Illinois. The family has created this Life Tributes page to make it easy to share your memories, photos, and videos.
