Mr. Francis Albert Bischoffer of Barrington

Francis Albert Bischoffer "Bud", 97, of Barrington, Illinois. Bud grew up in Norwood Park in the stucco two flat his father built. He was a faithful Catholic altar boy who learned the plastering trade from his father and uncles. At the end of his high school tenure at Lane Tech he enlisted in the United States Navy and defended our country's freedoms in World War II, the Pacific Battles (Philippines, Iwo Jima, Okinawa, and Tokyo). Upon returning home from the War he went to work as a drafting engineer for the Abell Howe Co. in Forest Park and as an Arlington Heights Police Officer. Bud found his work in law enforcement most rewarding. Bud and Marjorie moved to Mount Prospect where they happily started their family, and eventually moved to Barrington. As a family they enjoyed summer road trips to visit their friends in California and boating on the Chain Of Lakes. Bud and Marjorie were true animal lovers, so part of their family consisted of many pets, especially dogs (18!). They were married, sharing their lives together for 70 years. When Bud retired from the police department and his drafting job, he worked at the Appellate Court in the Chicago Loop until he was 90 years old. He lived a life of hard work and great service to others. Bud is a perfect example of why his generation is called "The Greatest Generation of Our Time". Bud will always be remembered as a generous friend who would go out of his way to help others. He was an amazing man with a kind heart, a handsome smile, and the most beautiful blue eyes. He will forever be dearly loved. Every day with Bud was a blessing! Loving husband of the late Marjorie Dorothy Bischoffer, nee Brainard; devoted father of Paula Marjorie Bischoffer and the late Christopher Francis Bischoffer; beloved son of the late Gertrude and the late Raymond Bischoffer; cherished brother of the late Raymond (the late Muriel) Bischoffer, the late Sally (the late Gene) Janczak and the late Louis (the late Ginny) Bischoffer and many caring nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 30, 2024 from 1:00 to 5:00 P.M. at Morizzo Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2550 West Hassell Road, (Northeast corner at Barrington Road), Hoffman Estates, Illinois 60169; and Monday, July 1, 2024 from 10:00 A.M until time of service at 11:00 A.M. Interment to follow at Willow Lawn Memorial Park in Vernon Hills. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to be made to PAWS Chicago, Anti Cruelty or Young at Heart .
