Mr. John H. Swick III of Hoffman Estates

John H. Swick III, 67, of Hoffman Estates, Illinois; beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2025, surrounded by his loving family at the age of 67. Born on December 4, 1957, in Cook County Illinois, John was known for his warm smile, kind heart, and a spirit that could light up any room. He is survived by his devoted wife, Maureen Swick (nee Ferguson), his loving daughters, Jonna Swick and Michelle (Shane) Holliday, and his cherished grandchildren, Landon, Brayden, and Mila. John was a treasured brother to Ken Paulsen, Pam Rutter and Duane Wollenberg, and a special uncle, cousin, and a friend to many. He was also a amazing dog dad to his beloved companions, Smokey and Princess. John is preceded in death by his loving parents and siblings Roger (Diane) Paulsen, Char Wollenburg, Bobby Rutter. John honorably served in the United States Navy for four years, a period that he looked back on with pride. Following his service, he began his career at Marcello's Father and Son where he formed lasting friendships and made cherished memories. He later worked at Leyden High School as a maintenance man-an experience that brought him joy as he was surrounded by students and faculty, many whom became like family to him. A celebration of John's life will be held at Ki's Steak and Seafood (705 North Ave Glendale Heights Illinois 60139). On March 29th from 12-4 pm. This venue holds a special place in our hearts, as it was the restaurant of one of John's best friends and one of his favorite places to dine. In honor of John's favorite color, the family kindly asks that the attendees wear blue. Johns legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will forever remain in our hearts.
