Juan Reyes Jr., 77, of Pingree Grove, Illinois. Juan Reyes Jr.'s life was indeed a testament to love, family, and faith. Born in Manatí, Puerto Rico, on November 29, 1946, he was molded by his parents, Nydia and Juan Reyes Sr., who instilled in him the timeless values of faith, integrity, and family. As the son of a pastor, Juan grew up with a deep sense of purpose and a clear understanding of what it meant to live a life of service, compassion, and devotion to both God and loved ones. At just six years old, Juan and his family made the move from Puerto Rico to the United States. The transition was a significant moment in Juan’s life, one that would help him shape his identity as both a proud Puerto Rican and an American. His sister, Lydia, was an integral part of his childhood, and their sibling bond remains strong to this day, a testament to the deep connections that formed within their family. Growing up with traditional Puerto Rican values, Juan learned early on the importance of close-knit family relationships and a strong work ethic. These principles guided him through his adult life and were passed down to his own children. His parents taught him that success is not only measured by material wealth but by the love you give, the integrity you maintain, and the relationships you build. Juan’s own life would reflect these values in everything he did, both personally and professionally. Juan’s career at UPS, where he worked for 35 years, was a testament to his dedication and reliability. He worked tirelessly to provide for his family and to create a stable, loving environment for his children to thrive. His long career at UPS not only gave him a sense of pride but also allowed him to demonstrate the qualities of hard work and perseverance that he would later pass on to his children. Juan met his wife, Norma, who also moved to Chicago from Puerto Rico, and together they built a remarkable life. Married for over 59 years, they created a loving home for their three children—Juan III, Nancy, and Cindy—in Schaumburg and later in Bartlett and currently lived in Pingree Grove, IL. Juan was immensely proud of his children, and they were the light of his life. Whether on the baseball field watching Juan III play or cheering for Nancy and Cindy during their soccer and volleyball games and every schooling event from when they were little, Juan was always present, always involved. His even brighter light where his four grandchildren were the light of his life. He was their biggest fan and would go to every game he could to support them. He wanted to be nowhere else in the world but where his grandchildren were at. To his grandchildren he was known as their grandpa (Christian and Victoria) and Papi Yuyo to Maddie and EJ. Above all, Juan’s greatest joy came from being a husband, father, and grandfather. His commitment to his family never wavered, and his love for them was evident in everything he did. He helped teach his children to value the things that truly matter in life—family, love, and respect. Juan’s story is one of deep-rooted love for his family, his faith, and his heritage. In his 77 years on earth, he made a mark on the world and will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He will always be remembered for his big smile, his humor and his heart of gold. IV, Christian and Victoria; devoted son of the late Nydia and Juan Reyes Sr. and brother of Lydia (hector) Rivera. Visitation will be Thursday, November 21, 2024, from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and Friday, November 22, 2024, from 9:00 A.M. until time of Funeral Service 10:00 A.M. at Morizzo Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2550 West Hassell Road, (Northeast corner of Barrington Road), Hoffman Estates, IL. 60169.
