Lydia M Zeller, nee Winkler, 83, of Schaumburg, Illinois. Beloved wife of the late Allan Zeller; loving mother of Patricia (Kevin) Pflanz, Christina Zeller, and Theresa (Mark Dec) Zeller; cherished grandmother of Christopher (Magdalena) Pflanz, Steven (Elizabeth) Pflanz, Kaitlyn Pflanz, Amanda Pflanz, Alexander Kozlowski, Elena Kozlowski, Jack (Kabrea) Shafer, Gabrielle Shafer, Olivia Shafer, Ryan Dec, and Kyle Dec; great grandmother of Nikolai, Scarlett, and Kamden; devoted sister of Charlotte Brockel and Heiner Schmitt; sister in law of Nancy Popp, fond aunt of Katja (Thomas) Scherer, Ralf Schmitt, Karen (Lester) Fitzpatrick, David Popp, Rick Popp, and Steven (Gayle) Popp. Lydia M. Winkler, now Zeller, was born to Karl and Maria Winkler in Germany. Losing her father in World War II at the young age of 3, she grew up in a quaint town in southern Germany with her mother, stepfather August Schmitt, brother Heiner Schmitt and sister Charlotte (Brockel) Schmitt. She studied business before meeting her husband in 1960, Allan K. Zeller, an American soldier stationed in Germany. They married in 1963 and went on to have 3 daughters Patricia (Pflanz), Christina Zeller and Theresa Zeller. She was a devoted wife , mother and grandmother. She was known for her kindness, generosity and infectious smile. She was a talented cook and enjoyed being with family and friends, gardening reading and leading a spiritual life. She touched everyone she met in some way and will be missed dearly. In lieu of flowers memorials to American Juvenile Diabetes would be appreciated by the Zeller Family. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 29, 2024 from 12 Noon until time of Funeral Service 3:00 P.M. at Morizzo Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2550 West Hassell Road, (Northeast corner at Barrington Road), Hoffman Estates, Illinois 60169.
