Mr. Patrick "Pat' Allen Walker of Buffalo Grove

Patrick "Pat" Allen Walker, age 67, of Buffalo Grove, Illinois; has completed his IMPOSSIBLE SACRED JOURNEY. He is now running in the presence of Jesus and all those who have gone before. Pat has left a legacy of God’s unconditional love for every person. He has been a gentle man of faith quietly serving others, acting kindly, and walking humbly with his God. He was able to love like Jesus loves and saw the best in people. He was always ready with his quick wit and humor. His grandchildren loved his Donald Duck imitation the best. Though Pat fought hard to do as much as he could as long as he could, he surrendered to the process of ALS with humble grace and patience. Pat has run the race set before him. He has finished well. Now Jesus welcomes his precious servant HOME. This is not the end. This is not the end at all. Our love is eternal. May you run swiftly, breathe deeply, and may God magnify the true YOU as bright as the stars. You will always be my favorite person BY FAR. I will meet you soon in the world remade. Pat was born in Bermuda on the Kindly US Air Force base. He graduated from the University of Illinois in 1980 with a degree in electrical engineering. He was an enthusiastic Illini fan. Pat was admired for his intelligence and work ethic. For the last 24 years, he worked as an Application Architect for Discover Financial Services. Pat competed in 10 marathons. Pat was preceded in death by his father Ira, mother Lorraine Mary (Birdner), and sister Mary. Pat is survived by his wife Amy, daughter Danielle (Kyle), son Luke (Sarah), and grandchildren Jude, Shiloh, Eloise, and Clive. He is also survived by his siblings John (Lorraine), Theresa (Eileen), Jim (Kathy), and Janet. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you donate to Gateway Woods or your favorite charity to honor the memory of Pat. A visitation at 8:30 a.m. and memorial service at 10:00 a.m. will be held on Saturday July 19 at the Apostolic Christian Church Fellowship Center at 2740 W. Highland Ave, Elgin.
