A Celebration of Life Service for Verner Sjodin, 101 will be held Saturday, January 5 at 10:00 am at Morizzo Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 2550 Hassell Rd., Hoffman Estates, proceeding to interment in Irving Park Cemetery, Chicago. Visitation will be held Friday, January 4 from 5:00-8:00pm at the funeral home. Verner Sjodin, 101, a resident of Schaumburg, Illinois since 1996, was born on October 28, 1911 in Escanaba, MI, to the late Elias and the late Anna (nee Timm) and passed away peacefully on January 1, 2013 in Lake Zurich surrounded by his loving family. Verner was the adoring husband of 71 years to Edith (nee Anderson); loving father of Ray (Anne), Glenn, Dennis (Carolyn), Daniel (Barbara) and Eleanor (David) Barton; fond grampaw of 14; proud great grampaw of 21; dear brother of the late Carl, the late Alfred and the late Eva Miller; he will be missed by all those whose lives he touched.
