Everyone is welcomed, but we ask that you keep your visit short so that all who wish to pay their respects will be able to do so. Please note that all visitors are required to wear face masks to enter the funeral home. ** Tony is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Edward and Clara Nero, his aunt Charlene Nero, long time family friend and "adopted" sister Kathy Szkaradek, and maternal grandparents Marion and Marie Krajecki. Cherished son of Anthony (Ellen) Nero and Donna Krajecki; beloved brother of Dianne (Jason) Sedwick, Ashley (Bryan) Reichert, Andrew Nero; fond uncle of Brandon (fiancé Gianna) Sedwick, Aiden Szkaradek, Amber Sedwick, and Anthony Reichert; honored nephew of Cheryl Nero, Carol (Oscar) Taft, Annette (Nick) Virgilio and many other aunts and uncles; missed cousin of Sean Taft, Donald Madriaga, Maria Madriaga, and David Madriaga. loving longtime partner of Anila Farrell and devoted father figure of Ryan. Tony or "little guy" as his family called him was a jokester and we could always count on him for a good laugh. He was constantly playing pranks on his father and sisters. He would often team up with his younger brother and chase his sisters around the house. Despite his pranks, Tony loved his family deeply and was there for them no matter what. Tony loved to work with his hands. He was a heavy duty tow truck driver for many years, had a small business as a handyman, and worked at Home Depot, he truly enjoyed helping people. He was never one to say no when people would ask him for help with various projects around their home. Whether it was putting up backsplash, unclogging a drain, or putting new brakes on a car, Tony was there. Tony also had a great love for music. He loved everything from Grateful Dead to Dave Matthews Band to Sevendust, and everything in between. He taught his younger family members to never wear the concert t-shirt of the band you were seeing so you would not be "that guy". Above all, Tony loved cars. He used the skills he learned from his grandfather to make sure everything was maintained correctly. He spent countless hours washing and waxing his cars. Tony was a perfectionist and that showed in the ways he took care of everything. Over the years he had many cars, but his favorites were his Ford Bronco, Dodge Ram Truck, and his woody station wagon that he got in honor of his grandfather. Tony's greatest personal pride was being a role model for his girlfriend's son Ryan over the last 14 years. Tony loved Ryan as if he were his own and spent countless hours teaching him about cars, supported him at karate, never missed a wrestling match and football game, and made basic day to day chores a lesson that he can carry on into other things in his daily life. They shared an unspoken bond of love and friendship. Cremation will be completed on 2/5/2021 and a private interment will be with Tony's grandfather at a later date. A celebration of life will be held in the summer. Family and friends will meet Thursday, February 4th from 11:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Morizzo Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2550 West Hassell Road, (Northeast corner of Barrington Road), Hoffman Estates, IL. 60169.
