Mr. Catalino Segui Borromeo Jr.

July 21, 1932 - May 10, 2022

Catalino Segui Borromeo Jr. (a.k.a JR), 89, of Pingree Grove, Illinois passed away on May 10, 2022. Beloved husband of the late Florencia “Enciang” Borromeo, née Cruz of 64 years; loving father of Aida (Marlon) Topacio, Nancy (Brian) Harrison, Ruth Laforteza, Grace (Antoine) Terry, Fe (Rolando) Espindola, Evelyn (the late Paul) Brophy and the late Perla Borromeo; cherished grandfather of Sheraleen (Michael) Thompson, the late Brandon Topacio, Jake (Meredith) Blaze, Jaclyn Blaze, Mario Garcia, Jason Garcia, Mayalin (Jordan) Barr, Ray Conrad Laforteza, Miko Laforteza, Nastasja Terry, Alexandra Terry, Joshua Terry, Lorenzo Espindola, Seth Brophy and Meghan Brophy; dear great-grandfather of Gabriel, Madeline, Naomi, Mila, Mason, Olivia, Savannah and Ariel. JR was born in Manila, Philippines on July 21, 1932. He was the seventh child of fourteen children. He met his spouse, Florencia, at St. Luke’s Hospital in 1955 where his grandmother was hospitalized. They were married on June 15, 1955. He immigrated to USA in 1964 and became a naturalized citizen in 1977. JR was employed by Harris Bank (BMO) in Chicago from 1964 - 1994. He and his wife moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1995 for their retirement enjoying the hot weather and playing bingo every day. They moved back to Chicago in 2013 to live close to their big family. JR was a good tango dancer and loved crossword puzzle, Scrabble and Uno. He was a generous person and had a comical and quirky humor. With encouragement, he finally acquired in 2020 savvy skills in using the smart phone. Towards the end of his life, JR rediscovered his journey with the Lord Jesus Christ who gave him strength and comfort since the passing of his beloved wife. Visitation Friday, May 20, 2022 from 3:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. (with prayers and eulogy's to start at 6:30 P.M.) at Morizzo Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2550 West Hassell Road, (Northeast corner at Barrington Road), Hoffman Estates, Illinois 60169; and Saturday, May 21, 2022, from 9:00 A.M. until time of prayers 10:15 A.M. proceeding to St. Hubert Church, 729 Grand Canyon, Hoffman Estates, Illinois 60169 for a 11:00 A.M. Mass of Christian burial. Interment to follow at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine, Illinois.
