Mrs. Clare Young of Schaumburg

Clare Young, 95, of Schaumburg, Illinois. Clare, born in Niles Center (now Skokie) in 1923, was the youngest of five girls. She attended Chicago public schools, and married her husband of over 50 years, William, at age 22. A mother of 5, she lost her second born, Robert Steven, a few short hours after birth. As a resident of the northwest side, raising her family in the Six Corners area, Clare was an avid Cub fan and staunch member of her parish, St Edward. Working part time at Martha Washington Hospital, she transitioned to full time employment at Bankers Life and Casualty, and retired from Bankers in her early 70's. She later moved to West Rogers Park. More recently, she resided at Friendship Village in Schaumburg where she lived independently for a number of years, after which she transitioned to their skilled nursing facility. A popular patient, Clare will be missed by her family, as well as her Friendship Village friends and staff. In lieu of flowers donations to Misericordia would be appreciated. Visitation Monday, June 10, 2019 from 8:00 A.M. to time of Mass 9:00 A.M. at St. Hubert Church, 729 Grand Canyon, Hoffman Estates. Interment St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, River Grove, Illinois.
