Mr. Peter "Tex" Cullotta of Schaumburg
April 9, 1936 - December 13, 2018
Peter “Tex” Cullotta, 82 of Schaumburg, Illinois. Tex was released from the chains of Parkinson’s on Thursday, December 13, 2018. He endured many losses without complaint in the last seven years. For most of his life, he was able to live it fully. He loved food, traveling, horse racing, and the Chicago Bears. His biggest love, though, was family. He believed in his children and grandchildren. He never failed to tell them how much they were loved. He always told his children to shoot for the stars, and no dream was out of reach. Tex loved making connections with others and had the biggest heart. Tex always thought the best of people. He would network and talk to everybody and anybody. He had fond memories of growing up in a close knit family in an Italian neighborhood, attending Lane Tech High School, and spending his free time at Riverview Amusement Park. Tex later married Flo at St. Michael’s in Old Town, the neighborhood he grew up. Tex had a love of travel and adventure. He and Flo moved to San Fernando Valley, CA in 1958, and opened up a gas station with his brothers, serving customers including Donna Reed, Johnny Cash, Ronald Reagan and others. Tex’s work as a project manager also took him around the globe, including Poland, Amsterdam, Paris, and Alaska. He loved the South, the Kentucky Derby and South Carolina. Tex also had a love and connection to Alta Villa Milicia, the town his parents were from. He and his family celebrated the Maria SS Lauretana feast together every year, and Tex was able to travel to Italy and Sicily a few times. This is the legacy he leaves his family and friends: love, generosity, kindness, and a passion for living life to its fullest. He was a blessing to everyone who knew him. Loving husband of Florence, nee Moca; devoted father of Linda (Tim Felde) Cullotta, Karen (John Slania) Cullotta and Peter D. (Laurie Leigh) Cullotta; devoted grandfather of Carrie Viso, Daniel Kledzik, Kevin Kledzik, Lauren (Jay) Krause-Barone, Jack Slania, Annie Slania, Nicolette Cullotta, Katie Cullotta and Ariana Cullotta; cherished great grandfather of Emilia Viso, Anna Viso and Giulian Barone; beloved brother of Marie (the late Andrew) DeLuca, the late Anthony (the late Carmelina) Cullotta and the late Joseph (the late Rose) Cullotta.
