Mr. Ronald Blanchette of Hoffman Estates Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Ronald Blanchette, age 66 of Hoffman Estates, Illinois. Beloved husband of Kari (nee Johnson); loving father of Lauren (Michael Money), Amanda, Erin, and Ron; dear brother of Suzette (George) Pfeiffer and Joel (the late Carolyn); fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Ron was preceded in death by his father Ronald and his mother Lois. Ron was a devoted husband, supportive father, and beloved son. Patriarch to his family and extended family, both in blood and friendship. He was a coach, confidant, and mentor to many. He met the love of his life, Kari, at Western Michigan University in 1975. He wooed her by playing songs for her during his weekly weekend DJ set on the radio station. They were happily married, almost 41 years. Ron was a lifelong sports enthusiast. Growing up in Wood Dale he played basketball, little league, golf, and football. In college he was a sports commentator at WMU. This led him to be the sports editor for the local Kalamazoo Gazette paper. Fresh out of college, he went on the amateur PGA tour before ending up at RAM Golf. Ron and Kari raised their four children in Barrington, and Ron coached many of their youth sports teams, including soccer, football, baseball, and softball. Many of his players still call him Coach to this day. Coaching enriched his life more than his players will ever know. Ron’s travels took him to many places, and some of his favorite destinations were Disney World, Alaska, Hawaii, California, and cruises to the Caribbean. More recently, Ron and Kari spent winter months in Florida. He loved live music and attending concerts with family and friends. During his career as an information technology consultant, Ron worked closely with White House Security, the Pentagon, and the State Capitals. Later in his career he transitioned to sales and staffing. His charismatic charm will be deeply missed by all those who loved and knew him. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 from 3:00 to 9:00 P.M. and Thursday, August 11 from 9:00 A.M. until time of funeral service at 10:00 A.M. at Morizzo Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2550 West Hassell Road, (Northeast corner of Barrington Road), Hoffman Estates, IL. 60169.
