Mr. Walter Otto Kleinfeldt of Hoffman Estates Obituary

Walter Otto Kleinfeldt, 78, of Hoffman Estates, Illinois. He was the loving husband of Patricia, nee Lasota, for over 50 wonderful years. The beloved father of Susan (Steve) Tabert, Walter (Janet), Timothy (Nicole), Daniel (Melinda) and William (Meaghan). Cherished grandpa (papa) of Wally, Samantha, Molly, Sarah, Izabella, Emily, Alexandra, Colin and Maeve. Dear brother-in-law of Joseph and Angela Lasota. Fond cousin of many. Walter was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Jean (Fritz) Kleinfeldt. Wally grew up on Chicago’s Northwest side attending St. Philomena’s, DePaul Academy, DePaul University and was a graduate of Northwestern University. He worked at Sears, Roebuck and Co. headquarters for 34 years in the Catalog Advertising Division. Later he joined the Better Business Bureau of Chicago handling Advertising Review and Community Relations. He was an active member of the Chicago Area Council Boy Scouts for over 40 years serving as Cubmaster of Pack 3986 and Scoutmaster of Troop 986 at St. Ladislaus Parish. Walter served in various positions in the District, Council and Region. He also was the National Representative for the Chicago Area Council. Walter also attended Owasippe Scout Reservation yearly as a leader and was instrumental in helping many scouts earn the rank of Eagle Scout. He made lifelong friends with his scouting family. Wally and his wife Pat were active in many parish church activities including Minister’s of Care at Resurrection Hospital and St. Alexius Hospital. He was a nostalgia buff who loved listening to Old Time Radio, Big Band music and playing golf with his friends. However, his heart and his passion were found in his family whom he loved so very much. He felt his proudest accomplishment was his children. Visitation Thursday, September 27, 2018 from 3:00 to 9:00 P.M. at Morizzo Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2550 West Hassell Road, (Northeast corner at Barrington Road), Hoffman Estates, Illinois 60169; and Friday, September 28, 2018 11:00 A.M. until time of prayers at 12:15 P.M. proceeding to Holy Family Catholic Church, 2515 West Palatine Road, Inverness, IL 60067 for a 1:00 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, River Grove, IL. In lieu of flowers donations to The Owasippe Staff Association would be deeply appreciated.
