Mr. Carl Edward Cepuran of Glen Ellyn

Carl Edward Cepuran, 64, of Glen Ellyn, Illinois. Loving husband of Marilyn Cepuran, nee Minchk, devoted father of Eric (Leah) Cepuran, Gordon (Sam) Cepuran and Ethan (fiancee Anna Quinn) Cepuran; cherished grandfather of Eliza, Leif, Jase, George and Billie; beloved brother of Joyce Cepuran and Cheryl (Andy) Weisberg; loving uncle and great uncle to many. The Lord blessed Carl and Marilyn with 42 years of marriage. They loved each other deeply and considered it a joy whenever they could all be together as a family. He loved, mentored, and coached each of their sons. He taught them all to golf, fish, and skate. He enjoyed watching them compete and was especially proud of them for being great dads to their children. He was an amazing grandfather and looked forward to their weekly adventures at playgrounds, museums, and putt-putt golf. Cousin sleepovers were a common family favorite that always included making pancakes with the grandkids. He also delighted in taking them on grander adventures, including a solar eclipse. Carl had a lifetime passion for speed skating, golf, education, his family, and the Lord. Through sport, Carl loved it when people took part, whether on the ice or off. He never wanted anyone to feel as though they didn’t belong and went out of his way to bring people in, including bringing them in community with the Lord. For his family, friends, and speed skating community, he drove to the moon and back and beyond. He will be dearly missed. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 26, 2026 from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Morizzo Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2550 West Hassell Road, (Northwest corner of Barrington Road), Hoffman Estates, IL 60169. Family and friends will meet on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at College Church, 332 E Seminary Ave, Wheaton, IL 60187 for a visitation from 10:00 A.M. till time of service at 11:00 A.M.. Interment to follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Glen Ellyn. If you are unable to attend the funeral service in person but would like to attend virtually please CLICK HERE . In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to Prison Fellowship or the ASU Speedskating Foundation, which provides scholarships for US Speed skaters.
