Mr. Dan Brenner of Hoffman Estates

Dan Brenner, 72, of Hoffman Estates, Illinois, a loving husband, father, and friend to many: peacefully passed away on May 2, 2022. Dan lit up rooms with his big hellos and even bigger smiles. He was genuinely happy to see those he greeted; his love of others was evident to all who met him. Dan and his family moved to the United States from Israel when he was 9 years old. He started 4th grade without knowing any English. Dan always spoke of the lifelong friends he made regardless of the language barrier – forming friendships with both “Easties” and “Westies” in Rogers Park. He was a 1967 graduate of Sullivan High School. He stayed in close contact with many fellow graduates and helped plan their 50-year reunion. Dan graduated from University of Illinois Chicago. He worked at ACNielsen for over 25 years where he met Pat (Raimondi). They wed and raised five children who were truly his pride and joy. He regaled friends and family with constant tales of his kids and grandchildren. He is the loving father of Tracy (Kris) Parker, Mark Brenner, Ken (Samantha) Brenner, Cindi (Alexis Sennstrom) Brenner and Keith Brenner; devoted grandfather of Merrick and Mitchell Parker and Ryan and Alec Brenner. Dan is survived also by his brother Joel (Atlanta, GA), sister-in-law Shelley (Allen) Shaw, nieces Dawn (Joel) Newman (Seattle, WA), Tsaffie (Mordecai) Kreitenberg (Clifton, NJ), nephew Zac (Rachel) Brenner (Boston, MA) as well as many great-nieces and great-nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Ann. After his years at ACNielsen, he started his own accounting business. He navigated the tricky world of accounting with ease and was a steady, reliable source of security for his longstanding clients–many of whom became friends. Dan is truly missed every single day. We cherish our memories of his generous smile, his upbeat, emphatic sayings, and his constant love and support. There was no bigger Chicago White Sox fan than Dan – he has two personalized bricks at the stadium to attest to that. “Yah baby” - we will see you soon! A celebration of life will be held at his home at 3:00pm on Saturday, June 11th, 2022 at 1840 Shorewood Drive Hoffman Estates, IL 60192.
