Mr. Dennis Hollevoet of Schaumburg

Dennis Dale Hollevoet, age 83, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2026, in Schaumburg, Illinois. He was born on June 27, 1942, in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Dennis proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1960 to 1964, including 18 months stationed in the Philippines. Following his military service, he worked for Boeing for ten years before pursuing higher education. In 1975, he began college and went on to earn a degree in Social Welfare from the University of Washington. In 1980, Dennis moved to the Chicago area, where he began working at Maryville Academy. It was there that he met a man who would become deeply influential in his life, ultimately leading Dennis to discover his faith. On June 24, 2007, he became a born-again Christian, a decision that brought him great peace and purpose. Dennis made his home in Schaumburg, Illinois, from 1997 onward, where he built lasting friendships through his church community—relationships he treasured deeply. He is survived by his loving sister, Diane Everson; sister-in-law, Jackie Hollevoet; and a cherished extended family of nephews, nieces, and their children, all of whom he loved dearly. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Helmer and Joyce Hollevoet; his brother, Roger; his brother-in-law, Gordy; and his step-sister, Beverly Knutson. Interment will be held on April 27 at 2:30 p.m. at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, 20953 W. Hoff Road, Elwood, Illinois. Comfort is found in knowing that the Lord has called Dennis home, where he is reunited with loved ones and made whole again. He will be remembered for his faith, his resilience, and the love he shared with those around him.
