Jeanne M. Korn

Jeanne Korn - avid reader, dog-lover, gardener, and lighthouse enthusiast - passed away peacefully in her own bed on Saturday, December 13th, 2025 at age 65. Jeanne was known for her sarcastic sense of humor, sharp wit, and her remarkable ability to befriend anyone she ever encountered (human, animal, plant - you name it). Jeanne’s happy place was tending to her beautiful garden in the backyard, whether it be her vibrant flowers or her obscenely large tomato harvest, much of which was shared with family, friends, and neighbors. She spent most of her life working in libraries, touching the lives of countless children and adults with her love of reading; the world incrementally became a better place with each interaction she had. She is survived by her mother, Janet; her brother John and sister-in-law Erin; her brother Don and sister-in-law Daphney; her sister Carol; her nephew and nieces Sean, Kailey, Emma, and Maggie; her husband of 41 years, Bill; her son, Robert; her daughter, Elisabeth; her son-in-law, Abbas; and her beloved granddaughters: Hadia, Leyla, and Zayna - the three brightest little lights of her life. Jeanne made an impact on everyone she met and will be treasured in all of our hearts. We can take comfort in the fact that she is now at peace, likely lying on a beach with her sweet little dogs next to her, gazing out at a beautiful lighthouse. Jeanne, Mommy, Gam-Gam…we love you. In honor of Jeanne’s life, memorial contributions may be made to the Spring Valley Nature Center (checks can be sent to 1111 E. Schaumburg Road and made out to the Schaumburg Park District), a place close to her heart where she proudly served as a volunteer.
